Board of Pharmacy to hold Public Hearing on June 1

The Iowa Board of Pharmacy will be holding an open (public) meeting on the medical marijuana ruling from the Iowa District Court on Monday, June 1, 2009, at 2:00 p.m. The Board denied my petition because I did not submit scientific evidence that marijuana has no high potential for abuse. The Iowa District Court ruled that scientic evidence was not relevant to my claim that marijuana has accepted medical use in treatment in the United States. The Iowa Board of Pharmacy must decide whether marijuana has accepted medical use in treatment in the United States. The Iowa District Court ruled that the evidence I submitted, 13 state medical marijuana laws, was sufficient evidence for the Board to make a decision on the question I asked them to decide.

Marijuana should be removed from the CSA schedules completely Of the 13 states with medical marijuana laws they allow a person and their care giver to produce a limited number of plants at home for medicine Nothing in the controlled substances list can a person produce at home for medicine and you sure cant produce medicine at home for another person to take. Can any thing get any less a public threat or restrictive than that You cant even make aspirins at home to give some one else Its time for some in our legislator and on the board of pharmacy to set politics aside in the interests of the people show some back bone and honor and be truthful about marijuana Its has many therapeutic properties and the adverse affects of it are minimal at best To many people with debilitating illnesses and conditions are suffering needlessly or from the harsh side affects of more dangerous pharmaceutical drugs used in treatments now . Medical research has shown the medical benefits from marijuana can be useful in a wide variety of conditions with minimal or no harsh side affects.People claiming the dangers of marijuana do to govt political pressure should be ashamed and removed from their position for denying people affordable harmless relief from suffering
