National Boards of Pharmacy

Here is an interesting event. Last week, the National Boards of Pharmacy held their 2009 Symposium on the question, "Should we legalize marijuana for medical use?" Apparently, the Iowa Board of Pharmacy medical marijuana hearings have moved to Arizona. Not surprisingly, the main event was a panel of California and Iowa pharmacy board officials.

Online registration is no longer available. Registration will be available on site beginning at 3 p.m. on Wednesday, December 2.

Board of pharmacy executive officers, members, and compliance officers are all welcome to participate in discussions with other state and federal regulators as well as stakeholders in the pharmaceutical industry. Attendees may also earn Accreditation Council for Pharmacy Education-approved continuing pharmacy education credit for their participation.

Americans for Safe Access issued a press release last week, but didn't send me a copy. I got it from a friend. It's amazing, because they give someone credit for triggering the Iowa Pharmacy Board medical marijuana hearings, but simply identify me as "litigation" rather than giving me any credit.
